A native of Louisville, KY, DJ DCeezy's career was launched during his undergraduate years at the University Of Kentucky. Always on the party scene, DCeezy began to notice that he wasn't impressed by the local dj that worked all the campus jumpoffs. At this point, DCeezy"stepped his game up" and bought audio equipment to do campus parties. Armed with two Minidisc players and a dj mixer, he began the quiet storm that would change him from upstart dj into a industry-recognized crowd motivator and well-traveled mixtape artist.
Never content to just be known in his home state of Kentucky, DCeezy began producing his widely-popular mixtapes (P-Poppin', HOODmix, and X-Clusive series) to distribute at all events. The numerous college events he performed at resulted in multiple out-of-state referrals. After listening to the blazing hot mixtapes, DCeezy's style and mixing skill were immediately embraced. Over 20 organizations that have brought DCeezy for performances now are serviced with retail copies of each mixtape as it is released.
With each mixtape hitting the streets, club promoters soon heard about the new kid on the block, and before he knew it, DCeezy was doing crowd populations in the thousands as the opening act for national recording artists ranging from 50 Cent & The G-Unit, Trina, Bone Thugs N Harmony, to Lil Jon, Scarface, and Ciara. With each performance, DCeezy took notes of the artist's show antics, and incorporated thoses elements into his own party presentation. This approach amplified his show presence by increasing his interaction with the crowd, and making each party more than just listening to music; it was an experience.
Record labels took notice as well, and began servicing DCeezy with exclusive records, sometimes even before radio gets the songs. They recognized that, unlike many so-called djs, DCeezy was capable and willing to break new music at his events, rather than merely regurgitating the Top-40 playlist from the local urban station. Those among DCeezy's following know they can expect to hear as many as 10 new songs an hour.
Along with record labels providing DCeezy with free music, he also has sponsorships from corporate America. To help lower costs for the group doing the event, DCeezy has a deal with Enterprise Rent-a-Car in which they provide free ground transportation to and from the event forhim. FedEx Kinko's works with any print needs such as poster, flyer, and publication creation. Also, Lil' Jon's new energy drink, CRUNK! (also known as Crunk Juice) is the newest sponsor. They provide free CRUNK! Product at each event, such as drink samples, lanyards, t-shirts, hats, and more! They also are behind the newest DCeezy mixtape series,"get crunk".
With an enormous street buzz behind him, DJ DCeezy soon turned his talents to the college radio scene. Every Tuesday and Thursday night from 10pm-2am EST, Club Sweat, one of the hottest southern mix shows in the country, broadcasts live on WRFL 88.1. The exclusive and uncensored mix show, boasting guest appearances from Hip Hop's A-List, continues its quest for world domination. Club Sweat is currently syndicated in Missouri, Tennessee and Alabama through Clear Channel Communications. Several other commercial radio stations in Atlanta, Charlotte, and Houston are in negotiations to broadcast the exclusive syndication within the next month.
Further separating himself from other djs, DCeezy brings more to the table than just music. Need help promoting your event' He is a capable graphic designer, and also does radio voiceovers and radio ad production. For the groups trying to take their promotion to the next level, DCeezy can help you out! He can design and print up to 10,000 full color, dual-sided flyers for distribution; and will help you create an attention-grabbing radio spot that will pique listeners curiosity.
